Hungarian anti-aircraft self-propelled gun WWII
Hungarian anti-aircraft self-propelled gun of the Second World War period, light in weight. Named after a biblical character. Originally conceived as an anti-tank self-propelled gun. It was created in 1937-1939 by the Swedish company AB Landsverk on the chassis of the Landsverk L-60 light tank. During serial production in 1941-1944, 135 units were produced. "Nimrods" were actively used by the Hungarian troops in 1942-1945. They were unsuitable for the role of anti-tank self-propelled guns, but they became effective as anti-aircraft weapons.
"Nimrod" proved to be one of the most successful and effective anti-aircraft weapons of the Second World War. Operating out of the range of enemy PT guns, they provided air defense for tank and motorized units on the march and in battle.
