This pack includes all the early T-80 versions. A later pack will include T-80BVM, T-80U, T-80UD, T-84
Russian T-80 tank - A near total redesign of the T-64. The turbine engine is very powerful, but consumes fuel at twice the rate of a
diesel.
The T-80 (initial production) had a fully redesigned hull with new suspension, and a turbine engine. The turret was identical to the
T-64A. This was a problem since the T-64B with laser guided ATGM capacity was already out. The T-80 cost 4x the price of a T-64A for
the same firepower (now already superceded.) As a result, only about 200 were built.
The T-80B had a revised turret comparable to that of the T-64B but with the latest composite armour. Later vehicles had a sheet of
applique armour welded to the glacis to improve the armour thickness. Around 4300 were built, making this version the majority of T-80
stocks.
T-80BV was fitted with the new Kontakt ERA panels. Around 15% of T-80Bs were so refitted. New skirts (including front flaps) and a
shield for the commander are the other noticable changes.
Hoses to the rear fuel tanks normally only seen on vehicles in combat. Vehicles transported by rail usually are missing skirt ERA and
fuel tanks. Skirt ERA rarely seen outside of combat. All these variations are included.
Vehicles included:
T-80 (early) unique front skirts, T-64A style turret. No grenade launchers. (option of no fuel tanks)
T-80B revised front skirts, revised turret. (option of no fuel tanks, tow cable on glacis)
T-80BK T-80B command version, one extra radio antenna on turret roof. (option of no fuel tanks, tow cable on glacis)
T-80B applique T-80B with glacis applique armour. (option of no fuel tanks)
T-80BK applique T-80B applique command version, one extra radio antenna on turret roof. (option of no fuel tanks)
T-80BV Turret, hull front ERA. Revised skirts. (option of skirt ERA, skirt ERA+hoses, no fuel tanks.)
T-80BV sawtooth Turret, hull front ERA. Revised skirts with sawtooth shape. (option of skirt ERA, skirt ERA+hoses, no fuel
tanks.)
All models should have a no-fuel option with long range tanks removed.
There is an open-hatch option for all turrets, using a separate cupola part.
I dislike drawing ERA.
All vehicles printed sitting on their tracks. Turrets and MG turrets printed in correct orientation. You will need to clean out
supports between the tracks first.
