The MT-LBu is a Soviet multi-purpose fully amphibious armoured carrier which was developed in the late 1960s, based on the MT-LB. It has a more powerful engine, a 40 cm higher hull and a longer chassis with 7 road wheels on each side. It was built in Russia, Poland and Bulgaria, and was the basis for many specialist vehicles (see other designs on offer). Further details on the vehicle and its variants can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MT-LBu or at https://www.recomonkey.com/Land-Platforms/Support-and-logistics/Tracked-Half-track/MT-LBu/Walkaround/i-2wVTjFD/.
Two versions of the design are offered, a first, hollow version suitable for resin printing, and a second one with separate tracks for fdm printing. The tracks are best printed horizontally, with the outside of the track unit facing away from the printer base plate.
The unit is very suitable for further modification to generate the wide variety of derivative vehicles.
The design has been updated on 22 July 2022. A defect in the tracks has been corrected, and the tracks have been reduced in complexity overall to ease printing. New files are now available, and should be accessible to current users. There are no particular changes to earlier guidance, but the latest resin version has not been test printed. Please contact me in the unlikely event of any issues arising.
The product is offered for personal, non-commercial use. Derivative designs for personal use may be generated, but neither the original nor derivatives may be shared with others. Attribution of the design is requested should printed models be exhibited or otherwise shared. Models printed from this design or derivatives may not be sold commercially.
