Fokker C.VII-w seaplane

Highly detailed model of the Dutch Fokker C.VII-w reconnaissance from the late 1920’s, still active until the out break of WW2.

A total of 30 planes have been build and delivered to the Netherlands Naval Aviation Service. 12 for the Dutch East Indies and the other 18 served in he Netherlands. The plane was withdraw from service in 1940 some have been destroyed by the Germans in May 1940.

In the Dutch East Indies the type stayed active as a trainer until the Japanese Invasion in 1942, four planes were destroyed in March 1942 during the Japanese attack, 2 were destroyed by the Dutch in March 1942, 1 crashed in May 1941 the others were removed from active services in 1938 and 1939.

The plane was used on the Admiralen Class Destroyers, Cruisers, gunboats like the Hr.Ms. Soemba and even as a Artillery observer transported and launched from a submarine.
