The DRG Class 24 was a series of 1’C (2-6-0) steam engines in service in Germany between 1928 until 1972. Nicknamed ‘Prairie Horses (Steppenpferd),’ they were light, fast passenger engines, which handled branch line service and local express trains in pre-war Germany’s Prussian regions. In total, 95 examples of these engines were built. Variants with and without smoke deflectors are included, along with the standard T16 tender.
