This model has a base area of about 62mm square and just 20mm height. It is intended to represent a sunken low profile fortification easily concealed and intended to hinder the enemies advance.
The model comes in 2 basic variations. The first is plain and will allow you to add your own scenic material thus blending the model to your own terrain choice. The second is very clearly aimed at the PTO with lots of jungle leaves concealing its presence.
The bunker comes in two main parts. The base which has 3 gun ports and 2 pistol ports to the rear, and a plug in roof.
The main bunker base intended to receive the weapons cassette has a slightly raised central area to ensure the weapons can point out through the gun ports. So check which file you are printing.
I intended the lift off roof to allow you to add your own partial figures and weapons and so bring the pill box to life.
For those of you who don’t want to do this extra level of modelling I have created a weapons cassette which can be dropped into place, secured by a thin plate which is trapped by the roof. I have included files for a rifle, LMG, and MMG.
I printed the models shown on an Ender 3 using a speed of 45 in general.
Plain main bunker and roof. Work well at a 0.15mm layer height.
The weapons cassette and securing plate can be printed at 0.15mm layer height.
The weapons need to be printed at 01mm or 0.06mm layer height, or is practical printed in resin.
Jungle main bunker and roof MUST be printed at 0.1 layer height or less. Drop speed to 30.
When cleaning the jungle parts take care, cut the support material away down from the leaves. Be sensitive to the tips of the leaves as I had to leave them relatively free with no bonding to the underlying piece.
