Bob Semple Tank

$5.50

The “Bob Semple” tank was a New Zealand WWII project for a makeshift AFV to face the threat of Japanese invasion, and was named after the then Minister of Works. It was a corrugated armoured box mounted on a heavy tractor, armed with six Vickers guns sprouting out in all directions.

It would have been unlikely to have been very effective in combat, but fortunately it was never thus tested. It was destined never to be more than a moving propaganda poster, to raise the morale of the civilian populace, and at that it was a resounding success.

This is a 15mm model, with separate STLs for the hull, turret and tracks.

2023-03-05: I’ve updated the contents of the zip file with an additional hull STL that is split longitudinally, and flattened the underside of the track modules, which should make it very much easier to print in FDM.

Assembly should be pretty self-explanatory, but if you’d like to see how I’ve done it I’ve put a post up on my blog at http://mojobob.blogspot.com/2023/03/bob-semple-redesign.html
