“Oh Chutes!” A Bolt Action Scenario… and .stl

The following is a modification of the scenario “Supply Drop” which was put out by Warlord games on line a few months ago. I have play tested it and tweaked it to remove some ambiguity in the original scenario and playability. I also have designed an .stl of an objective marker ideal not just for this scenario but for any in which airborne troops or supplies may be involved. First things first, here is the edited “Supply Drop” scenario – Supply Drop Scenario 1 And here is the After-Action Report on the scenario’s test play (fought with Early War 1000-point armies) Oh Chutes Supply Drop After Action Report And lastly, I created a simple objective marker to represent the supply canister. I used the British CLE canister as the model. I created a crumpled chute in Tinkercad. I reduced the size to make the marker a manageable size for the table and the game.   I printed it on quite crude settings and painted it up. The choice of colour of the chute itself is wide open; the Allies used several colours for the chutes, dependent on the contents of the particular canister and the particular operation. For Market Garden, for instance, I found this guide online Ammunition – Red (more of a pink) Rations – Green Medical – White Fuel – Blue Mail – Black Communications Equipment – Yellow This makes sense, in that is every time you used a yellow coloured chute, it was always going to contains ammunition or medical  supplies, your opponent will likely know as well, and it may affect how they react. In he photos you see I used a small tear drop shaped wood disk as a base. This isn’t necessary but it allows some more terrain effect plus increases the durability of the print. This  original .stl is available for a free download here at the marketplace at Wargaming3D.com
